What is meant by 24-hour care?

24-hour care allows seniors in need of assistance to live at home with assistance. Our Polish caregivers provide care in a domestic environment. For you and your family, this means a significant relief. Being able to stay in their familiar surroundings and be cared for there, measurably increases seniors’ quality of life. At the same time, this individual type of care is often considerably less expensive than a nursing home and is also an excellent alternative for people with dementia.

What is the cost of the care?

The rates for care by an assisting housekeeper through to a qualified caregiver range from €2,200 to €3,500 per month. With us, there are no hidden costs. The prices include the salary for the Eastern European caregiver inclusive of the statutory social security costs, legally secure contract design as well as our service.

What financial subsidies are available?

There are many funding options for 24-hour care. For those in need of care of a particular level, this includes the care allowance. In addition, the prevention care allowance can be used, and parts of the short-term care can be credited against it. Further financial relief can typically be claimed through tax benefits. Benefit eligibility and tax relief are linked to certain conditions and depend on the individual case. We will be happy to advise you on how to make the most of the options available to you.

What does 24-hour care entail?

In addition to basic care, 24-hour care also includes domestic care. In addition, the caregiver keeps the person company and accompanies him/her on leisure activities, doctor’s appointments or shopping trips. The caregiver takes care of all tasks that cannot be done by the person in need of care themselves. As a result, seniors are able to maintain a self-determined life in familiar surroundings. Depending on the individual’s care needs, we provide live-in assistance, ranging from domestic help to qualified caregivers. These aides encourage movement and active participation in life, and thus ensure a significantly higher quality of life and a better state of health.

What are the working hours of care workers?

Our Polish caregivers work full time for up to eight hours a day and are allowed at least two hours of break time for personal leisure activities. They are present in the home overnight and are on standby in case any problems arise. For this reason, your 24-hour caregiver needs her own room in the house or apartment.

What kind of training do the caregivers have?

Our caregivers come from the nursing field or have initial experience in it. Your live-in help will be familiar with all care-related and social tasks.

What is the language proficiency of the caregivers?

We only place caregivers who can communicate clearly in German. With MR Language Academy, we operate our own language school, where our Eastern European caregivers can acquire various language certificates.

When will the caregiver be with us, how long will it take?

To find the appropriate caregiver for you, we first determine your individual care needs. The requirements profile that the caregiver must fulfill is based on this. Then we propose different individuals for you. Once you have selected the right caregiver for your needs, it takes about three to seven days for the person to arrive at your home. We recommend that you inform us as soon as possible after the need for care has been identified.

What is the reason for a replacement of my caregiver?

24-hour care is a physically as well as mentally demanding activity. Where possible, we schedule two live-in caregivers for you at a time, usually alternating every two to three months. This way, we safeguard our caregivers’ time off and recovery time.

Which things should I handle?

The caregiver needs his or her own private, lockable room as a place of retreat in the patient’s apartment, together with a dependable Internet connection. The apartment should be remodeled in such a way that home care is possible. It is important to make clear arrangements to ensure a harmonious coexistence. The caregiver has a right to compensatory time off and is bound to the statutory working hours. Room and board will be free of charge. For the time of their absence, another form of care must be found if the person in need of care cannot remain alone for a few hours and independently notify help in an emergency.
