24-Hour Care

What is it?

Live at home with quality care. This is what many seniors hope for. 24-hour care makes it possible. Thanks to competent and loving 1-to-1 care on-site, your relatives can continue to live in their familiar surroundings. This makes 24-hour care the personal alternative to a nursing home – even if the need for care is high.

24-Hour Care: A brief introduction

The term 24-hour care describes the use of caregivers who support a person in need of care in their home and everyday life, as well as provide nursing services. The correct term for this service regarding senior care and elderly care is “care in the home community” or BihG for short. We will arrange the appropriate caregiver for you: from a housekeeping assistant providing care to a qualified caregiver.

In practical terms, 24-hour care means that a caregiver lives in your relative’s home and, in addition to providing basic care, assists with household chores, carries out patient mobilization measures and ensures individual care. This means that, even in an emergency, there is always someone on site you can rely on. And even with seniors suffering from dementia, care in your own four walls maintains a largely self-determined life.

Work schedules

In 24-hour care

The term “24-hour care” is misleading. Needless to say, a caregiver cannot work 24 hours continuously. The term applies because the caregiver lives and resides with the families. As with any employment relationship, breaks and rest periods are self-evident and clearly regulated in accordance with employee protection.

As required by the German Working Hours Act, our caregivers work an average of 40 hours in a seven-day week. This corresponds to a maximum of 160 hours per month, or a working time of around five to six hours per day.

By providing personal care within a home-like community, our caregivers give you the security of knowing that someone is always on hand to provide support when needed. This is why the live-in caregiver needs his or her own room in the home environment of the person in need of care.
